This is how we celebrate the 4 sun festivals in Dornach in 2026
Equinox March 21
We celebrate the spring equinox on March 21st with the official opening of our "Buschenschank" (organic farm to table restaurant)
Solstitium June 21
The summer solstice - also called Solstitium (Latin for “standstill of the sun”) - marks the astronomical start of summer in the Northern Hemisphere on June 21. While winter begins on this day in the southern hemisphere, the sun shines the longest for us on this day. After that, the days get shorter again for us - until the winter solstice at the end of December. We are celebrating the solstice festival in Dornach on Saturday, June 21,with a blossom festival: The vines have finished blooming in the vineyards, the chestnuts are in full swing, and our bees have a lot to do. We, on the other hand, let our souls unwind, taste the new vintages, decorate our heads with flower wreaths, and dance with the kids!
10am -14pm
Equinox September 26
The equinox occurs on September 26, 2026. On this day, day and night are exactly the same length everywhere on earth. We in Dornach are celebrating this on Saturday 20 September with the end of the wine-harvest with a special kind of thanks-giving festival: the equinox thanks giving party at Dornach! (12 am - 5:30 pm)
Solstitium December 21
We celebrate the winter sun turn, when the days start to get longer again, in Dornach with a farm Christmas market on our terrace: from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. you can enjoy the wintry Christmas atmosphere, taste regional and organic delicacies, and explore the various farmer's market stalls. Delights guaranteed!
